ABOUT

Erica Wren

Erica Wren has worked in creative spaces her entire career—at McCann-Erickson (McCann) in New York City and Barkley in Kansas City. And behind the scenes she’s been an interior designer and art collector.

Her love for design was evident early on, when as a child she frequently broke into new-home construction sites and devoured every episode of The New Yankee Workshop. As a young adult, she read everything  covering art, architecture, and design she could get her hands on. She then applied that knowledge to her personal homes, friends’ homes, and her growing art collection.

She learned by doing—and graduated from hobbyist to custom work, quality finishes, and a deeper understanding of the art market. Eventually, art and design became her full-time pursuit.

Erica has overseen historic home renovations and high-end custom home builds, including project management, floor plan revisions, budgets, sourcing, and every detail of design.

She has worked on projects for The Kansas City Collection, as well as a multi-disciplinary exhibition led by renowned artist Eric Fischl. She has relationships with galleries in Kansas City and across the country, and has advised on both personal and corporate collections.

Erica and her husband Mike have two children, for whom her company is named, and a dog named Bruce.

Interiors

Design
Design services include a defined plan, project management, installation, styling, and access to trade-only proprietors and our unique, curated list of sources.  Our role can cover materials  selections, architectural details, furniture selection and layout, color palettes
, and finishings.  Project sizes range among:

  • Single-room refreshes and renovations

  • Whole-home renovations, especially historic homes

  • Custom home builds

Elizabeth Decker often collaborates  within a team of architects, general contractors, and skilled tradespeople. Importantly, we speak the vernacular of these key contributors.

Space and Floor Plan Consulting

While Elizabeth Decker is not an architecture firm, and would never profess to replace the educated eye with which architects approach their work, we will ensure your space functions correctly.

Should that cabinet of drawers be placed 90 degrees from the dishwasher? Where do you normally watch tv? Does it make sense to add an outlet there for a charger?  You’ll find the high benchmarks we set for both style and utility are never at odds.
